The weather is a smidge warm, but I am looking forward to the Washington Parish Watermelon Festival. I am in desperate need of some homegrown watermelon. My mama always talks about the Black Diamond watermelons, and I honestly don’t know if they exist anymore or not. I do know that Jubilee watermelons seem to be a close second and I have seen some folks have them for sale.
Each summer I claim I am going to learn to make salsa or start canning things. I have not made it to that point yet. I have high expectations, but then it falls through. I also claim I am going to garden, but that has NOT happened yet either. Maybe one day I will get myself together and try it. You know I can use all the tips and tricks possible.
