July 4th has always been a special time of year. As a kid we would grill, swim, and basically have a reunion of sorts with family. Now days it is a little more calm, just hanging around the house, unless we are out of town. I have always wanted to go to the Gatlinburg 4th of July parade, but it wasn’t meant to be this year, maybe next year. My girls went to it a couple of summers ago and thought it was the best thing ever. They never meet a stranger, so quite a few friendships were formed.
Enon Baptist Church Youth came back from Camp Fuego on Friday. Sunday was Youth Sunday and WOW what a service. Songs, experiences, testimonies, and even a camper of the week. It is amazing how God is working through our Youth and their families at EBC. Please encourage our Youth as they go through their daily lives, especially those who are transitioning to jr. high, high school, college, and young adulthood. The Arise Youth Camp will be July 16-19. If you would like to help chaperone or provide snacks, please let Miranda know. Condolences to the families of Jennifer Flemming, Jack Todd Edwards, and Bobbie Brumfield Miller. Happy birthday to Clara Patton, Matthew Ginn, Leland Yates, and Pat Butler Long.
If you have not registered your child for Pre-K or Kindergarten and are in the Enon District, please stop by and register your students. We are looking forward to seeing many new faces this school year. July 5th the Soul Heirs Brass Band will be at the Enon Elementary School Auditorium for the Enon Library Summer Reading Program. It will be at 2 pm and I hope to make it there myself to hear them. If you are looking for a particular book, go check with the fabulous ladies at the Enon Library. They can help you find pretty much anything you are looking for!
I am hoping next week to have pictures to put in from the Youth Sunday at Enon Baptist Church, the 4th of July celebration, and may be even a few pictures from camp.
