My brother Mike Sharp has made it out of Tulane Hospital and is now at the Hope House. He will be there for a while, but not being “tied” to an IV pole and awaken at various times of the night seems to be his favorite things so far. He has had the most amazing doctors, nurses, techs, etc. everyone has been so kind and loving to him and Natalie. We are so appreciative of those who have been supporting him and praying for him. If you know someone who is going through a hard time, please be supportive, just your prayers can turn a bad day better. I have another friend who is going through a rare type of cancer and will be facing surgery soon. Please pray for her healing, courage, strength, and complete restoration.
Brother Chris Wheeler gave a wonderful sermon on Sunday. The title of the sermon was “Lord, I’m Tired”, now this could be taken several ways, but oh my goodness did it speak to my heart. Basically, we can be physically, spiritually, and emotionally tired, but sometimes it can be so much more than that. If you are in need of some HOPE, I recommend you checking out the Enon Baptist Church Facebook page and giving it a listen. (You can also check out last week’s Youth Service that was AMAZING. They learned so much at Camp Fuego.) The special music was amazing as well. Blessing of Food will be July 15th.
Next Sunday, July 16th, EBC will have Pastor Brandon Dickson leading worship. We are looking forward to hearing him speak God’s word. The Youth will have the ARISE Youth Revival Camp July 16 through July 19.
On Sunday morning, July 30th, EBC will be having 5th Sunday Sing, observe the Lord’s Supper, and have Dinner on the Grounds afterwards.
Condolences to the families of Jane Ann Crawford, Jim Fauntleroy, Johnny Hennick, and David Tullier Sr.
Happy birthday to Trevor Daniels and Missy Talley Gaines.
Due to renovations, the Franklinton Junior High School 7th grade transition camp scheduled for July 20th has been cancelled.
Enon Elementary School will have Meet the Teacher on August 3rd. Pre-k through 2nd grade students will meet at 8 am, 3rd through 6th grade students will meet at 9 am. Students will need to wear their white or light blue polo shirt for ID pictures.
The Enon Library has a total of 97 readers for the Summer Reading Program. The Enon Library Summer Reading Program will have their graduation on July 12th at 2 pm. There will be water fun, fire trucks, rootbeer floats, and goody bags for the readers graduating. We are so proud of your hard work and dedication.
My girls and I attended the Watermelon Festival Friday night. It was a great time, especially listening to Back 40 Small Town Band. They are a great group of guys who just like to play music and have fun. If you haven’t heard them, I highly recommend you check out their Facebook Page to see where they will be performing next. We are hoping to hear a LOT more from them.
I hope you have a great week, please stay hydrated and out of the heat as much as possible. Until next time…..
