My girls, especially the oldest, love the World War II Museum in New Orleans. Since the month of July is half off admission for Louisiana residents, we decided to go. They have the World War II Walt Disney section there until September. When Gracie did her “observation hours” there for her Senior Project she was able to watch them set the Disney section up. It was quite impressive to say the least. I enjoyed hearing her talk about it and seeing it in person was amazing. Being in New Orleans you also never know who you may see there. While at the museum I saw Aaron’ Sanchez, a celebrity chef off of the Food Network channel. This was the second time meeting him, the first being at the old New Orleans airport, the first time James flew out to New Jersey to work. Hopefully one day I will go to his restaurant in New Orleans called Johnny Sanchez.
While we were on our day trip, we also went to visit my brother Mike and sister-in-law Natalie at the Patrick F. Taylor Hope Lodge. This is an amazing place for those dealing with things that have them or their family members in the hospital for various treatments. I always knew about it, and I am pretty sure my parents may have stayed there with various hospital stays for MawMaw and PawPaw. It was so impressive though, and the people who work there are so kind and friendly. If you ever find yourself in need of using it, it is top notch.

Pre-k through 2nd grade students will meet at 8 am, 3rd through 6th grade students will meet at 9 am. Students will need to wear their white or light blue polo shirt for ID pictures. We look forward to seeing our Enon Eagles soon!
The Enon Library had their Summer Reading Program Graduation last week. Washington Parish Fire District #8 brought the fire trucks to help cool things off. This has been a long tradition between the library and Fire District #8. When Mrs. Helen Buck was the librarian, she and my brother Mike Sharp started with this tradition and we hope it continues for many, many years to come.
I hope you all have a wonderful week. Try to cool off in the shade and enjoy as much time with friends and family as you can. Until next time…..
