Well, we sure had church last Sunday! Enon Baptist Church had 5th Sunday Sing during morning worship. There were a LOT of wonderful worship songs. The Children, Youth, and others had great choices in music and it sure was powerful. (One of my favorites is “Let Me Tell You About My Jesus” by Anne Wilson.) We then had Dinner on the Grounds and enjoyed fellowshipping while the kids played in the water and on a waterslide.
There will be no Children in Action August 2nd or 9th at Enon Baptist Church. Business Meeting will be August 9th. August 27th will be Children in Action Recognition. August 13th there will be a Bake Sale for the Children in Action after the morning service. Beginning August 13th we will have a new age range for Misson Friends, ages 4-7 years old. Congratulations to Todd Knight and Taylor Cotton on their marriage this last week! I hope you have a lifetime of happiness. Happy birthday to Cody Comeaux, Pepper Taylor, Eliska Magee Lynch, Tony Knight, Brother Dean Register, Belinda Jones Morales, and Noah Burch.
My brother Mike Sharp is OFFICIALLY home from the hospital! He came home on about Day 43 post transplant! We were told he would be there for up to 100 days (more or less), but he has definitely been an overachiever in this health journey. We are so very grateful for his donor and hope to meet them in the future. If you can give blood, platelets, or even bone marrow, I encourage you to do so. You have no idea how much of an impact you can make until you are in that situation.
This week begins my 23rd year of teaching. I have no idea how I am already at this point in my life nor how I now have THREE former students as coworkers. This summer has been a whirlwind, but I will enjoy having a schedule again, I think. Enon Elementary School will have Meet the Teacher August 3rd. 8 am to 9 am all Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd graders, 9 am to 10 am all 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. First day of school is August 7th for 1st to 6th graders, first day of school for Pre-K and Kindergarten boys is August 21st, first day of school for Pre-K and Kindergarten girls is August 22nd, and all Pre-K and Kindergarten begin August 23rd.
We will be moving Gracie into college in a couple of weeks. She will be at Centenary College in Shreveport majoring in History. I know she will do well, but I sure am going to miss her being at home! You know there will be many trips for Annalise to hang out with her big sister. I am looking forward to seeing where God leads her in this new chapter of her life.
I hope you all have a great week. I am hoping that it won’t be as hot in August with school starting, but we all know how that will turn out. (haha) Be on the lookout for buses and kiddos out and about soon. Feel free to email me with any exciting events coming up! Until next week….
