I really can’t get over this heat. I promise I don’t ever remember it being hot like this when I was a kid. There is no way this is the same sun from back in the day, or maybe we are just spoiled by the AC? I don’t think so, but something has got to give! I can’t imagine having to work out in this heat all day, but we are grateful for those who do, and they deserve a huge raise right now.
I honestly wish we started school late August like we used to, I know some remember when we started after Labor Day. (I don’t remember that, but if that were an option it would be great too!)
Enon Baptist Church had a Blessing of Backpacks for students and school employees on Sunday. My girls and I are so thankful for this opportunity, especially with us moving Gracie to college this week. I am not quite sure how to deal with all of this, but I am so happy to have such a wonderful, caring church family.
Thank you to those who donated to the Children in Action Bake Sale! Our kiddos appreciate it. Children in Action will have their recognition on August 27th.
Blessing of Food will be August 19th.
EBC is in need of Operation Christmas Child items: ponytail holders, pencils, coloring books, erasers, pens, scissors, loose leaf paper, and toys. (you can always donate money towards the shipping as well)
Condolences to the families of Beau Bowman, and Bonnie Dier.
Happy birthday to Randall Ginn, Chelsea Thomas, Tessa Ginn, Melanie Jones King, our fabulous gifted teacher Lucy Parker, Jonna Ard, Joanna Reber Perilloux, Doris Dutruch, and my amazing coworker Val Penny.
Our Enon Elementary School Eagles made it through our first week of school. It has been a learning curve getting back into the swing of things, but we made it. We are looking forward to having all of our students at school soon! Please make sure to check out the school website or Facebook page for any changes that have been made. You can check out the Student Progress Center for student grades, etc.
The Washington Parish Reading Council is having a Membership Social on Wednesday August 16that 4 pm in the Franklinton Primary School SPED Auditorium. We would love for all educators past and present to join!
For the month of August, the Enon Library will have a movie at 3 pm on Thursdays. August 17th is Cat in the Hat “Breeze from the Trees”, August 24th LEGO “The Indominus Escape”, August 31st Pink Panther Cartoons.
Please try to stay hydrated in this ridiculous heat and stay indoors if possible. I am trying to remember to water my plants that like water and be easy on those that don’t need so much.
I hope you all have a wonderful week. I will let you know how moving our college student in goes this week. (no promises on mama not shedding a few tears, haha) I am so excited to see where this journey takes us. Until next time…..
