This weekend was hectic, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Always on the go with the girls and family, ball games, traveling, and trying to get things done around the house and for work. Gracie was FINALLY able to take the field at Demon Stadium Friday night. Last summer during camp she stepped in a hole and injured her ankle and was sidelined for the season. Friday night they were able to march proudly out on that field, mud and all, in gorgeous new uniforms and white boots and they all put on an amazing half-time performance.
On September 15th the Enon Library will have a local author, M. Scott Smallwood, discuss his new book “The Thrilling Adventures of the Secluded Man”. He will have copies of his book for sale during the signing. 3 pm to 4 pm will be the Children’s Grab and Go, then 4 pm to 5 pm will be the Author’s Chat. I am so excited about the Meet the Author! Don’t forget September is Library Card Sign-Up Month. If you or your children do not have a library card, stop in, say hello, and ask about signing up for your card.
Enon Baptist Church had a work day Saturday and got several things accomplished. The kids had a great time at the Banana Olympics and the Youth had an AWESOME time at the Amazing Golden Watermelon Race (scavenger hunt). Operation Christmas Child needs toys for all ages, pencils, pens, socks for boys and girls, scissors, and pencil sharpeners. The Washington Parish Food Bank needs canned vegetables, grits, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, dried beans, juices, and boxed rice sides.
September 24th is our SECOND ANNUAL CHILI COOKOFF/FALL FEST & CAKE WALK at Enon Baptist Church. There will be two categories for the chili, “hot dog” chili and “hearty” chili (like soup or made with beans)
Blessing of Food will be September 17th. This week starts our week of prayer for the Georgia Barnette Offering, our goal is $1,000.
Happy birthday to John Danos, Sandra Knight, Raylene Perry, and Kristen FitzSimons.
Enon Elementary School will have a $1 dress day on September 16th. Beta Induction is at 6 pm on September 20th. On September 22nd EES will be practicing their Lockdown Drill. It is ONLY practice. Progress Reports went out last week. We are so proud of all of our Eagles and their accomplishments so far.
I hope you all have a good week!
