January always seems to be the longest month to a teacher because we get paid before we get out for Christmas and then do not get paid again until the end of January. (January feels like it has 57 days anyway, but when it comes to a monthly paycheck, well it’s a long month. Haha) This past week was definitely interesting with having a holiday, then two days off for ice and cold. I thought I would get so much done, but to be honest it was just a little.
Enon Baptist Church Youth will be starting their Veggie Sale soon. It will go through the rest of this month and February. The veggies will be delivered March 16 from 9-11 am. I have one youth who would love to help you out!
We are still collecting the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.
EBC will have lots of exciting activities coming up. February 4th will be the Senior Love Luncheon, February 10th will be Parent’s Night Out, and one of my favorite, February 24th will be the Wild Game Cookoff. February 9th will be the 2ndannual Youth Lock-In from 7 pm to 7 am the next morning. There will be lots of games, fun, fellowship, and food!
We will be having a Women’s Retreat at the end of February, if you are interested, please contact Sarah Sanson.
There will be a House Warming for the Sanson family on January 28th from 2-4 pm.

Some of the ladies who call themselves “The Gathering” met up at Aunt Janie Thigpen’s to celebrate her birthday this past weekend. Those who came were Aunt Janie, my mom Beryl Jo Sharp, my aunt Charlotte Ginn, my mother-in-law Sally Thigpen, my daughters Gracie and Annalise, Raylene Perry, Clara Fay Adams, Kim Talley, Rosetta Miller, and myself. Yummy cake made by Christy Kent and coffee was on the menu. The ladies meet up when they can usually 4-5 times a year for fellowship and fun.
I know I spoke of how amazing our Enon Eagles looked at the Winter Ball, but these kiddos had a blast dancing, taking pictures, and snacking! Our results from ticket sales were: King Michael Melancon, Prince Madden Moore, and Duke Levi Crawford, Queen Anniston Newman, Princess Emmie Newcomb, and Duchess Lisette Seal. (The Duke and the Queen happen to be in my homeroom.) Congrats to all of you!
FJHS Support Group Tryouts are Dancin’ Darlins January 29-February 1, Cheerleaders February 5-8, Pep Squad February 26-29, and Flag Team March 4-7. Best of Luck to all who are trying out!
