This Thursday March 21st, Franklinton High School will be having a Bloomer Bowl to support the Beta Club and help send them to Nationals in Savannah, Georgia this summer. I am so excited about attending my very first Bloomer Bowl! There will be major competition between all of the teams and there will be a Homecoming Court, the Demon Girls, Cheerleaders, etc. (Annalise is one of the Demon Girls) The concession stand will be open as well. Gates open at 5:30 pm and the Presentation of the Court begins at 6 pm. Afterwards will be the Battle between the Juniors and Seniors, and the Administrators V/S Faculty. The Game will consist of four 10 minute quarters with a 15-20 minute halftime show. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased from the office at FHS Tuesday through Thursday or at the gate. We look forward to having the whole community come out to support our students, teachers, and staff.
This past Sunday was Youth Sunday at Enon Baptist Church. It was a wonderful service with amazing worship music. Some of the songs were “I Thank God”, “You’ve Already Won”, “Graves Into Gardens”, “Promises”, and “Gratitude”. One of my favorites is “You’ve Already Won”, it is a powerful song that just touches my heart. Brother Lenny Stephens gave the message and Mrs. Miranda gave her testimony. This was a wonderful time also hearing about Camp Arise from last summer. I am so proud of the Youth, their growth, and their love for the Lord.
Blessing of Food will be March 22nd. Thank you to all who ordered veggies from the Youth of EBC. We had a wonderful turnout to help send them to Camp Fuego this summer. March 24th will be Dinner on the Grounds and an Easter Egg Hunt after morning worship. Bring a covered dish and join us for fun and fellowship. March 29th will be the Carry Your Cross Walk starting at 9 am in the Dirt Cheap Parking Lot. There will be a Good Friday service in the church sanctuary at 6 pm. Easter Sunrise service will be at 7 am on March 31st and then regular morning services after.
Condolences to the family of Kirby Green Northcutt.
Happy birthday to Jimmy Pace, Ashley Manning, Sharon Perry, one of our FABULOUS 6th grade teachers Charlene Willimas, and one of our AMAZING bus drivers Lisa Daniel.
Enon Elementary School sent home report cards on March 18th. March 22nd will be $1 denim day with a school affiliated top. March 27th will be Kindergarten Graduation Pictures. School will be out for Spring Break from March 29th to April 5th. EES had many leprechaun activities for St. Patrick’s Day and enjoyed a fun day.
All Washington Parish Library branches have been updated and your password is now the last 4 digits of your library card number. The Enon Library has scheduled dates for the Summer Reading Program.
I look forward to hearing from each of you about upcoming activities and events. I hope you have a great week. Until next time….
