Well, we are absolutely FAIRED out! We rode rides, ate yummy food, visited with friends and family, watched shows on the stage, bought handmade crafts, LAUGHED, and walked a lot of miles. My daughters were honored to be a tiny part of Miss Donna Hemphill’s memorial on stage at the Fair on Saturday. There was a beautiful tribute to Miss Donna for all her years of dance and for teaching our girls grace, poise, confidence, and most of all CLASS. When my girls were old enough to be in dance we chose Donna’s Dancers, because she was classy with her ways and the girls always had gorgeous outfits that were age appropriate. At the end of each dance class, Miss Donna would always say, “Ladies…….take a bow” and then if they did well they would get a piece of bubble gum. If they did REALLY well they would get two or three pieces. At the end of the memorial, all of the girls and ladies who were former dancers came on to the stage for a final bow and as they exited the stage they received a piece of gum and a memorial card. Yes indeed, I cried like a baby. We love and miss you Donna!
Enon Baptist Church won second place in the Washington Parish Free Fair parade for their float. Blessing of Food will be Saturday, October 30th. Remember October 31st is our Chili Cookoff, Trunk-R-Treat, and games night, we would love to have you! It will run from 5 pm-til. We will observe the Lord’s Supper on November 7th. We are still taking donations for Operation Christmas Child and the Washington Parish Food Bank. Condolences to the families of Bill Gay, Joe Leake, and Charles Wood. Happy birthday to David Thigpen, Brandon Thomas, Faith Ginn, and Jean Turner.
Our Enon Eagles were extremely creative and won many ribbons at the Washington Parish Free Fair. Crafts, posters, stories, art, you name it, the students did extremely well. We have such talented, smart, and witty students.
