Guess what y’all? It is raining AGAIN! I am sure by now my grass is drowning. I believe we are all ready for a little bit of sunshine, just not the heat. I can’t believe in about two and half weeks, school will be starting back. I know as a teacher I do not want to hear that or see advertisements for back to school, but I also know I am excited to see coworkers and students.

Congratulations to Joel and Cheyenne Brumfield on the birth of Miss Janie Brumfield. Happy birthday to Anthony Modica, Lionel Jones, Cindy Cargill, Judy Fussell, Kadyn Kittelson, Tony Estopinal, Sharon Mizell, and Brandon Voth. Condolences to the family of Ms. Donna Hemphill.
Ms. Donna was a classy, elegant, and kind lady. I met her when I was in high school. She did some choreography for the Demonaires and I thought she was amazing. Many years later she taught dance to both of my girls. I was honored that she was the one teaching them not just dance, but to be confident, do their best, be sassy, but classy, and how to be a true lady. (She led by example) So many memories of recitals, rehearsals, and Fair performances. There was one recital where one of the costumes had feathers. She told us whatever you do, do NOT get them wet. Of course, it was Annalise’s costume, and we babied that outfit for fear of something happening to it. As life would have it, Annalise had to have an emergency appendectomy a few days before recital. She didn???t get to be in the program obviously and she was heartbroken. Every single tear, late night, sore muscle, and count was worth every penny to dance with Donna’s Dancers. We love Ms. Donna and will miss her tremendously.
July 22nd’s movie at the Enon Library will be Woody Woodpecker. Don’t forget to register for the library’s paint party on July 23rd. You can call the library to register and for more information about times. They have a lot of new books at the Enon Branch, also in large print. Stop by and visit the ladies and see what kind of books or movies you can check out.
I hope you all have a great week and hopefully we can maybe enjoy some sunshine?
