Mt. Hermon School
MHS has a new principal, Ms. Lee Bond! When I first heard that the principal position was open, my first thought was, Ms. Lee Bond should be the principal. Congratulations! I know you will do a wonderful job!
MHS also has a new coach for the Varsity Boys Basketball Team, Matt Lea. He has been a Math/P.E. teacher at MHS for the past four years. He has coached Jr. High Basketball teams and the Lady Jackets Basketball Team. Coach Lea and MHS look forward to an awesome 2021-2022 basketball season!
A few changes have been made to the uniform policy for the upcoming school year. PreK-6th grade: Gold or Black Polo or Gold Spirit Shirt
7th and 8th grade: Gray Polo or Gray Spirit Shirt
9th-12th: Black or White Polo or Black Spirit Shirt
All to be worn with khaki uniform bottoms
Meet and Greet for 1st-6th grades will be Thursday, August 5th from 2-4 PM.
Silver Creek Campground
July 23rd-25th is Water/Bounce House Weekend. Vendors will be there selling food and snowballs. Saturday, they will have five water/bounce houses for the entire day. Karaoke/DJ will begin at 7 PM.

On behalf of the Frazier/McElveen Family, I would like to thank everyone who reached out to us after the passing of my uncle, Sid Frazier. A special thanks to our church family of Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church. You all have shown so much love and support to everyone.
Bogue Chitto Baptist Church
This coming Sunday, July 25th, during the morning service, they will hear from the children who attended children’s camp this past weekend. They will also begin their Children’s Church Ministry for children PreK-3rd grade. Dinner on the grounds will be after the service. Join them for Sunday school at 9:30 AM and service at 10:30 AM.
Men’s prayer breakfast is Sunday morning, August 1st at 8:30 AM. All men are encouraged to attend.
Choir practice will resume Wednesday, August 4th at 6 PM. Anyone interested is encouraged to attend.
August 10th, the WMU will meet at 10 AM. All ladies are encouraged to attend.
Mt. Hermon Baptist Church
The Youth will have a Back to School Party on July 29th.
Women’s Back to School Prayer Brunch is July 31st at 10AM. Light breakfast foods will be served. The guest speaker will be Ellen Simpson Burford of Moving Mountains Ministry. Join other women in the church and community as they pray for the children, teachers, schools, bus drivers, and also all personnel as they return for the new school year. All is encouraged to bring school supplies to be donated to Mt. Hermon School for children in need.
August 21st, at Woodland Park Baptist Church in Hammond, there will be a regional equipping event for the women leaders of the church. This is for all Sunday school teachers, women’s ministry, etc. The cost is only $12 per person and that includes lunch.Registration deadline is August 6th. Let Judith know if you are interested.
Less than 2 weeks of the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Challenge. Help them reach the goal of collecting 40 shoeboxes for a child in need.
Sunnyhill Baptist Church
“We will praise the Lord in all things!” At Sunnyhill, they will continue to pray for the country, the church, and the people. The worship service, this past Sunday, examined how the tongue can be used to build people up or tear them down. God has the power to cause us to use our tongue for His purpose (James 3). Praise God in all things. Blessings will come to you.
Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church
Pastor Randall Garcia delivered the message titled, “The Show Down”, with the main Bible verse being Matthew 4:1.
Make plans now to attend the Young At Heart gathering on August 5th at 10:30 AM. Anyone that is age 50 and up is welcome to meet at the church for a time of fun, food, and fellowship.
