These are some of those old recipe cards and clippings Grandma saved over the years and what better time to put them down than right before our traditional Thanksgiving Feast.
Graham Cracker Fingers
Prepare a sheet pan 9 ½ by 14 by fitting whole graham crackers on bottom, put aside. Mix and boil for 2 minutes 1 ½ stick of butter, 1 cup sugar, ½ cup evaporated milk (small can). Remove from heat and add: 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 cup coconut, 1 cup chopped nuts, ½ cup graham cracker crumbs. Pour this mixture over the whole graham crackers in pan. Add another layer of whole graham crackers and press down gently.
Icing: 1 pkg. cream cheese softened 8 oz., 1 stick butter, 1 box conf. sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla. Cream cheese and butter, add sugar and vanilla. Spread the mixture in pan. Refrigerate and keep tightly covered with foil or cover. Will keep 10 days in refrigerator. Can be cut into bars.

Chocolate Cake
2 cups sugar, 3 eggs, ½ cup butter, 1 tsp. vanilla, 2 cups self-rising flour, 1 ½ cups milk, ¼ cup cocoa (Hershey's)
Mix the sugar, eggs, and butter. Add vanilla. Blend in the flour and milk. Pour into 2 greased cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes. Cool.
Icing: ¾ cup cocoa, 1 tsp. vanilla, ½ cup evaporated milk, 1 box confectioners' sugar, ½ cup butter.
Mix cocoa and sugar, Cream the butter with part of cocoa and sugar. Blend in vanilla and half of the milk, adding remaining cocoa, sugar, and milk. Beat well. Frost the cake.
Bourbon Balls
¼ cup (generous) 86-proof bourbon , 2 Tblsps. Dark corn syrup, 1 cup finely crushed vanilla wafers, 1 cup finely chopped pecans, 1 cup (generous) confectioners' sugar, 3 Tblsps. Cocoa
Thoroughly stir together bourbon ang syrup. Stir in crumbs, pecans, sugar, and cocoa. Generously cover a large sheet of wax paper with extra confectioners' sugar; spoon ½ tablespoonfuls of mixture into paper. Roll each portion into a ball; roll in sugar on paper. Before serving, place between sheets of wax paper in an airtight container and refrigerate overnight; shake extra confectioners' sugar over balls. Store any left over in refrigerator or freezer. Makes about 3 dozen.
Makes 5 Pie Crusts
5 cups sifted flour, 4 tsp. sugar, ½ tsp. salt, ½ tsp. baking powder, 1 ½ cups shortening.
Beat egg yolks in 1 cup measuring cup until smooth then add enough cold water to make 1 cup. Blend together with dry ingredients.
And our "must have" holiday dish the boys request each year is Diane Green's Corn Casserole.
1 can cream corn, 1 can kernel corn, 8 oz. sour cream, 1 stick butter, 1 pack of Jiffy Cornbread. Mix and bake for 40 minutes at 350 degrees.
