Good day to all! As I write this column, it is currently 43 degrees outside, with a wind chill factor of 37. I'm hearing that we may see snow this weekend. But with Louisiana weather, you never know. Just got to be prepared for anything.
Mt. Hermon School
Congratulations to Alexis Magee on signing to play softball with the Louisiana College Wildcats! Alexis is a Senior at MHS, and has maintained a 4.0 gpa. She has attended Mt. Hermon School since Pre-K. She is the daughter of Timothy and Grace Magee. This past Friday, with family members and teammates in attendance, Alexis signed her letter of intent to play softball for the Wildcats. MHS is very proud of her!
The MHS Staff Member of the week is Mrs. Deborah Norman. She is a valuable member of the MHS Family, and they appreciate her kindness to the Yellowjackets!
Next week the MHS basketball teams will travel for away games. January 24th, the Jr. High teams will play at Franklinton Jr. High at 5 PM. January 25th, the High School teams will travel to Maurepas, and again on the 28th, they will play at Christ Episcopal. Both games begin at 6 PM.
Mt. Hermon Baptist Church

Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church
Bro. Melvin Sumrall celebrated his 95th birthday last week. He has attended MHUPC for many years, rarely ever misses, and still drives himself to church. Wednesday night, a birthday celebration was given in his honor. Bro. Melvin says, "The Lord has been good to me". Happy Birthday Bro. Melvin!
Bro. Paul and Sis. Anna Badeaux celebrated 50 years of marriage on January 15th. What a blessing! Happy Anniversary to both of you!
I'm not sure who came up with this, but it's a good thing to remember:
Wash your hands and say your prayers,
because Jesus and germs are everywhere!
