Birthday celebrations were recently held for two special people. The afternoon of Easter Sunday, family, friends and church members gathered to celebrate Uncle Daniel Gill, who turned 80 on April 1st. His three daughters, Dana, Loralyn and Karen did a great job of getting it all together. Everyone enjoyed the wide variety of finger foods with cake and ice cream, playing quiz games about Uncle Daniel and watching slide shows of pictures throughout the years. Also, the kids had lots of fun having an Easter egg hunt.
This past Saturday was a beautiful spring day to celebrate the 90th birthday of Aunt Leatte Painter. Her eight children have been planning the event for several months and hoping to keep it a secret so she would be surprised, and yes, she was surprised! She was greeted by a big yardful of people to wish her a happy birthday! An abundance of delicious food was served, including crawfish, petit fours and birthday cake. A waterslide was set up for the kids, and others played volleyball. All the guests signed their name inside a Bible that was later given to Aunt Leatte as a birthday gift.
It was such an honor to be invited to both events, and I'm so glad I was able to attend. I hope you both had a wonderful birthday and are blessed for many years to come!
