Mt. Hermon School
Condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Beverly Caves. As a teacher at Mt. Hermon School for many years, retiring in 2015, she made a positive impact on so many students. She will certainly be missed.
Congratulations to the Teacher of the Week, Mrs. Jennifer Strickland, and to the Staff of the Week, Mr. Janson Burch. MHS is blessed with the best!
The MHS Juniors received their class rings last Monday night at the Class of 2023 Ring Ceremony. Very exciting event for Juniors!
Mt. Hermon School will be presenting the 2021 Veteran’s Day Program this Thursday at 9:30 AM in the gym. They will be honoring all Veterans who fought for our freedom. Breakfast will be served for Veterans in the library at 8:30 AM.
Tuesday, November 16th, the Junior High Cheerleaders and the Football team will have pictures made. Also, the Junior High Football Championship game will be played that evening in Varnado.
Bogue Chitto Baptist Church
All the Veterans were acknowledged during the morning service this past Sunday. Thank you to all Veterans.
Sunday, November 14th, the Deacons will meet at 8:30 AM, and the monthly business meeting will be after the evening service.
Sunday, November 21st, they will have a church wide Thanksgiving meal following the morning service. There will be no evening service.
Mt. Hermon Baptist Church
This coming Sunday, they will have Thanksgiving lunch after the morning service.
Women’s Bible Study is each Tuesday at 10AM. The Finance Committee will meet next Tuesday, the 16th, at 6 PM.
Wednesday night activities begin at 5:30 PM with supper being served, followed by DiscipleKids and 3SixTeens at 6PM, then choir practice at 7 PM.
Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church
Thursday, November 11th, the Young At Heart group will meet at the home of Bro. Mike and Sis. Judy Hughes.
This Sunday, November 14th, we will have a potluck Thanksgiving meal with our church family, after the morning service.
This past Sunday, we enjoyed hearing Sis. Judy Hughes singing “Little Wooden Church”, and the Sr. Hands of Praise signed to “Wait On the Lord”.
Sis. Mandi Boyd recognized the Veterans in the congregation. She also blessed us all with delivering the message that was titled, “This is Your Last Night Among the Tomb”, with the focus Bible verse being John 11:25 (KJV) Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall live.
