I'm very thankful to have had a blessed Thanksgiving dinner with family and friends, or as my five year old likes to call it, a "Thanksgiving party". The Fall decorations have been put away and the Christmas decorating is complete! We are ready for Santa!
Next weekend, December 9th and 10th, from 6-8 PM, Silver Creek Campground invites everyone to their "Christmas Drive Thru at the Creek". For only $5 a car, you can ride through the campground to see their beautiful Christmas displays. Saturday night, Dec. 10th, Santa will be under the pavilion at 6 PM.
The Mt. Hermon Christmas Parade will be December 17th at 10 AM. If you are in the parade, line up is 9-9:30 AM behind Rawl's Pharmacy. This parade gets bigger and better each year! For more information, you may contact Raymond Garcia at 985-515-4165.
District 9 (Mt. Hermon) Fire Department is asking for donations to help families in our area for Christmas. They have Toy Run boxes set up at Mt. Hermon and Clifton Dollar General, as well as Family Dollar in Mt. Hermon. They are collecting toys, games, blankets, arts and craft supplies, etc. for children ages 5-15.
Thank you to the Mt. Hermon Ruritan Club! Because of them, our community has the Christmas lights that you see in downtown Mt. Hermon, and they have added a few. You can feel the holiday spirit as you drive through!
Condolences to the family and friends of Aunt Mary Lou Gill. She was always such a sweet lady, and will certainly be missed.
Bogue Chitto Baptist Church
December kicks off the collection for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions. The Christmas Cantata will be December 18th at 5:30 PM with a soup and sandwich fellowship meal to follow.
Mt. Hermon Baptist Church
This Saturday, December 3rd, 10 AM-Noon, the Women's Ministry invites all women to Mugs & Muffins. There will be food, fellowship, entertainment and games. Everyone will get a prize to take home, with the theme being, "The Greatest Gift of All". Please RSVP by texting or calling 985-517-0441.
The Adult Choir will present their annual Christmas Cantata next Sunday, December 11th at 6 PM.
Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church
Bro. Todd Tucker will be a guest preacher on December 11th at 10 AM and 6 PM.
The Young At Hearts will meet on the 15th at the home of Bro. Mike and Sis. Judy Hughes. Anyone that would like to participate in the gift exchange, may bring a $ 10 gift.
December 18th at 6 PM will be our Christmas program. Sandwiches and other finger foods will be served afterwards.
Candlelight service is December 21st.
