Silver Creek Campground is hosting a Gumbo Cook-Off this Saturday, January 21st, 10 AM-1 PM. Cash prizes will be given to 1st, 2nd place and People's Choice Award.

The District 9 (Mt. Hermon) Fire Department is still selling BBQ Chicken dinners for $11. This includes half a chicken, baked beans, potato salad, bread and cake. Congratulations to the Jr. High Boys Basketball Team for placing 2nd in the Parish Championship! MHS is proud of you all!
Friday night at 6 PM, the high school girls will play Varnado, then at 7 PM, the boys will play Cristo Rey. It will be a great night for basketball in the MHS gym!
This Saturday is the Parish Livestock Show in Franklinton at the fairgrounds.
MHS would like to thank the Mt. Hermon Ruritan Club for their monetary donation to the MHS Lady Jackets Softball Team.
Next week is Homecoming Week with, "Our Pride Can't Be Tamed", as the theme. Each day, students will have the opportunity to dress accordingly.

The 2023 MHS Homecoming Parade is Wednesday, January 25th at 2 PM. The parade will roll through downtown Mt. Hermon with this year's Grand Marshals, Mrs. Romenia Scott and Mrs. Nell Smith. They will also be honored at the Homecoming game.
Friday, the 27th at 5:30 PM, is the presentation of the Homecoming Court and crowning of the Queen. The high school basketball teams will play Slaughter Community Charter.
Bogue Chitto Baptist Church
The Youth and Children will be hosting a Valentine fundraiser supper on Wednesday, February 15th in the Family Center. They will be accepting donations for the meal.

Happy Birthday to Bro. Melvin Sumrall! He turned 96 on January 11th. After Wednesday night church service, everyone celebrated with cake and ice cream.
