Good day to you all! Spring is in the air, and also pollen. It was good to get some rain Sunday evening.
Washington Parish Fire District 9 (Mt. Hermon) is hosting a Blood Drive for Mike Sharp, Fire Chief of the WPFD 8 (Enon), who has recently been diagnosed with Leukemia.
Mr. Mike regularly needs platelets and blood to help his immune system stay strong. Due to ongoing blood shortages, all blood types are in high demand. The Blood Drive will be Saturday, April 1st from 9 AM-2 PM at the Dist. 9 fire department, which is located on Hwy. 1055 behind Brooks General Store.
To celebrate St. Patrick's Day, Silver Creek Campground welcomes everyone to join them this Saturday, March 18th, for some Irish fun! Dress up your cart, kids, ATV, bicycle and have a parade. Don't forget your throws! Parade line-up is at 12:30 PM with the parade starting at 1 PM, followed by games and costume contest, then DJ music under the pavilion.

Congratulations to the Track and Field team for a great job at the Sumner track meet this past Saturday. Many student athletes brought home medals! Way to go, Jackets!

The Jr. and Sr. Beta Club is having a Crawfish Raffle! Winner receives 3 sacks of live crawfish with all the fixings and crawfish boil seasoning. Pick up date is April 6th at MHS. The cost is $2 for 1 ticket or $5 for 3 tickets. Tickets can be bought from any Beta Club member. Ten of the Beta Club members will be competing in Kentucky this summer at the National Convention. To help off set the expenses, besides the crawfish raffle, a Go Fund Me account has been set up where you may donate online or you may go to the school office to make a cash or check donation. MHS is very proud of these students for having the opportunity to compete on a national level.

The MHS Golden Grad Reunion is May 6th, beginning at 9 AM, in the school cafeteria. Please help spread the word.
Bogue Chitto Baptist Church
It was a wonderful "Seasons Celebration" this past Saturday. A great turnout, inspirational speaker and great fellowship. The Youth group had a fun time bowling Saturday evening.
The 150th anniversary and homecoming will be May 7th. All are welcome.

Wednesday night activities begin at 5:30 PM with supper, then Disciple Kids, Youth, and Prayer meeting at 6:00 PM, followed by Choir practice at 7:00 PM.
Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church
The Young at Hearts (for those age 50 or older) will meet for lunch this Thursday at 12 noon at the Bogue Chitto Cafe in Franklinton.
This Sunday, March 18th, we will be honoring Pastor and Sis. Garcia at the 22nd Pastoral Anniversary Service. Bro. Todd Tucker will be the guest speaker, followed by a potluck lunch. Come honor them with us at 10 AM.
At the last Hope Alive meeting, we heard a testimony from a man who recently started attending MHUPC. He spoke of how thankful and blessed he is to be part of this church. Hope Alive meetings are held every Sunday evening at 7 PM with doors opening at 6:15 PM for food and fellowship. This is a 12 step recovery group helping people recover from any hurt, habit or hang-up. You too will be blessed!
