It is officially summertime! Not only does the calendar say so, but these ninety degree temperatures definitely say it's so. Be careful in this heat!
Silver Creek Campground will be celebrating 4th of July next weekend! Friday, June 30th, 7-11 PM, they will have a DJ and Karaoke. Saturday, July 1st, at 1 PM, they will begin playing games. That evening at 7 PM, Sheauxdown Band will perform, followed by an amazing Firework Show at 9:30 PM.
Mt. Hermon School is very proud to announce that the MHS Sr. Beta students placed 7th in the nation in the Book Battle Competition at Nationals! The seven young ladies who attended Nationals worked hard to get there, then competed against many others from schools across the nation. It is a great honor to place in the Top 10!
Last week, they set out to attend the National Beta Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. Special thanks to Beta Sponsor, Ms. Tiffany Williams and to everyone who donated to help make this trip possible.
Church News
•Bogue Chitto Baptist Church is in the middle of their Vacation Bible School week. They are excited to be learning about the Kingdom of God and the armor He has given His children for the spiritual battle we are in. Family Night is Friday at 6 PM.
•Mt. Hermon Baptist Church will have their VBS next week, June 26th-30th from 5:30-8:30 PM, for ages 2-14. You may register your child through the Mount Hermon Baptist Church Facebook page.
•Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church honored all the Fathers during the Sunday morning service. They each received seasoning that will be perfect for grilling and given a numbered ticket for a drawing to win a barbecue grill. The winner of the grill was Bro. Mike Hughes.
After Sunday night's Hope Alive meeting, a birthday celebration was given for Bro. Allen Boyd. Happy Birthday, Bro. Allen! Hope Alive meetings are on Sunday nights at 7 PM, or get there at 6:15 PM for food and fellowship.
Junior Camp was last week in Tioga. Eight youth from our church attended. They all had a great time, and two received the gift of the Holy Ghost for the first time.
The Young at Hearts will meet this Thursday, June 22nd, at Mike's Catfish in Amite at 12 noon. Anyone age 50 or older may join them for some delicious food and visiting with each other.
