Silver Creek Campground will be closed until January 22nd, due to the cold temperatures. The gumbo cook-off has been rescheduled to next weekend, January 27th.
District 9 (Mt. Hermon) Volunteer Fire Department is now taking orders for chicken dinner plates. The cost is $12, and it includes half of a chicken, baked beans, potato salad, bread and cake. The date of pick-up is February 24th. To place an order, you may call 985-877-5029, message Washington Parish Fire Department District 9 on Facebook, or contact a Dist. 9 volunteer.
Mt. Hermon School
It's Homecoming Week! In celebration of showing school spirit, Wednesday is wear Mardi Gras attire day, Thursday is class color war day (Prek-2nd wears red, 3rd-5th wears orange, 6th-8th green, 9th-12th purple and faculty and staff wear blue), Friday is black and gold day.
The homecoming parade will roll through Mt. Hermon this Friday at 1 PM, followed by a pep rally at 2 PM. Friday at 5:30 PM, the homecoming court will be presented, and the queen will be crowned, followed by MHS vs. Christ Episcopal.

* Thursday, January 18th at 6 PM, MHS Yellowjackets will host the BHS Lumberjacks at MHS.
* 100 Days of School Celebration is January 26th. PreK-5th graders may participate.
* This year's Golden Grad Reunion is May 4th, 2024. The guest class is 1975, and the host class is 1974.
Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church
The Young at Heart group (for all who are age 50 and older) will meet at Mike's Catfish Inn on January 25th at 11:30 AM. Join them for a good time of food and fellowship!
Bro. Jonathan Russell will be the guest speaker in the morning service of Sunday, January 28th. That evening, at our Hope Alive meeting, he will give his personal testimony. This will also be Hope Alive's 1 year anniversary! For anyone with a hurt, habit or hang up, please join us on Sunday evenings at 6:15 PM for food and fellowship, followed by the meeting. Also, Sunday mornings at 10 AM, Tuesdays at 7 PM for prayer meeting and Wednesdays at 7 PM fro Bible study and children and teenager classes.
