The Mt. Hermon Ruritan Club's 2nd Annual Chili Cook Off is this Saturday, February 10th, from 11 AM-1 PM, at the Ruritan Clubhouse. For only $5 per person, you get to taste a wide variety of homemade chili made by the club members, and cast a vote for your favorite. They look forward to seeing and visiting with people of the community.

A baby shower was held this past Saturday for Marcaila and Jordan Catchings, who are soon expecting a baby boy, Judah. They would like to thank everyone for getting out in the rainy weather to help celebrate baby Judah, and they are very thankful for each gift they received.
The Young at Hearts will meet this Thursday, 11:30 AM, at Mike's Catfish in Amite. Vocal entertainment will be provided by Lil Randall Garcia. If you are age 50 or older, you are welcome to join them for fun, food and fellowship.

The MHS Show Team recently competed at the Southeast Louisiana District Livestock Show in Covington, La. They each earned multiple awards. They make MHS proud! Timothy Magee placed 1st in 15 year old Showmanship, 2nd in class with Petunia, 1st in class of Louisiana Bred Reserve Grand Champion of Louisiana Bred, 1st in class with Diva, 1st in class of Louisiana Bred Grand Champion of Louisiana Bred. Faxon Coleman placed 3rd in class with Dusty, 2nd in class of Louisiana Bred, 2nd in class with Precious and 2nd in class of Louisiana Bred.
The MHS Jacket basketball teams will play at Pine High School this Thursday (2/8) at 6 PM. Home games will be this Friday (2/9) at 6 PM, playing against FCA.
The Lady Jacket Softball Team will play this Friday at the Sumner Jamboree.
