Hello everyone! Hopefully, you have been staying warm on these cold days. We've already had freezing temperature and is predicted to be in the twenties and possibly in the teens by the weekend. We may even see some snow. It has been cold enough to have a fire in the fireplace. Bryan built me a nice fire and it sure did feel good. I pulled my recliner close to the fireplace where I enjoyed TV, eating some ice cream and the fire felt wonderful.
Once again Frances and I say the new year, 2020, in our tradition, blowing the car horns at the strike of midnight. I was invited to go to Dusty's for hot dogs and fireworks. We roasted marshmallows to make smores. She caried Linda Jean and I to see a fireworks show at a friend's house. It was a beautiful sight to see.
Happy birthday to my cousin Herman Ingram who celebrated his birthday on January 15th and Mrs. Tracey Schexnider whose birthday is January 21st. Hopefully, you both had a great day.
Mrs. Doris Schilling celebrated her birthday December 28th. Rick Schilling and I treated her to a Bar-B-Q lunch at Skinny's Restaurant. The special occasion was enjoyed and having lots of laughs.
A family gathering was held at the home of Evelyn Burch on Christmas Day. They enjoyed a meal of ham, chicken pie, corn bread dressing, potato salad plus other sides and desserts. Attending were Barbara, Brenda, Sara, Chris, Charlie, Jose' and Shelby Jr. When I arrived, they were playing Sneaky Santa and having lots of laughs. I left with a plate of food and a bag of nice gifts.
I was invited to the Christmas Cantata on Sunday night at Mt. Heron Baptist Church. The choir members came in holding a lighted candle and took their place. The presentation was enjoyed by all. The choir is under the direction of Ms. Ruth. Following the program all enjoyed a variety of goodies in the church fellowship hall. It was good to see folks I don't see often. Steve and Nell Webb were visiting.
My aunt Jeanine Knight recently celebrated her 86th birthday with her daughters Kay and Laurie and nieces Nell, Lorell, Jackie, Barbara, and Sue. Lunch and birthday cake was enjoyed at the Grand Buffed on Saturday, December 18th.
