Hello, it's fair time everyone!
The Washington Parish Free Fair is a special event we all look forward to in the month of October. The fair begins with a fabulous parade on Wednesday morning the 19th and goes through Sunday, October 23rd. By the way there are only six more days 'til the fair begins. Hopefully you are planning to enter some exhibits. I plan to enter some. I always look forward to seeing my friends I don't see often and getting something good to eat.
There is something of interest for all ages from the youngest to the young at heart. That includes all of us. By all means enjoy yourself with your family and friends. Please be considerate of others, they want to have a good time also. Parents make sure you know where your children are at all times. Be safe as you travel on the road. **Don't forget we will be serving water in the commercial building on Thursday evening and singing at the Holy Moon Bluff Baptist Church in Mile Branch, Saturday from 11:30 til 1:30 p.m. Come join us!
Happy October birthday to the following special people: Maria Rose Nickel, Maggie Ingram, Ms. Katherine Magee, Larry Magee, Mattie Pasterio, Rebecca Crain, London Strange, Rusty Smith, Shawn Hill, Megan Herbert, Connie Jenkins, Phyllis Alford, Kyle Russell Hartoz, Jamarian Tate, Cody Hughes, Louise Holmes, Lacey Richard, Destiny Brumfield, Bro. Fredrick Brumfield, Lane Thomas, Jett Falgout, Nash Taylor, Finley Ann Taylor, Bayleigh Burch, my buddy Louis Tate, and don't forget me - Nell. I'll celebrate on Friday at the fair.
MHS recently held open House and Meet the Jackets. Parents and students visited with their teachers at 6 p.m., then everyone gathered in the gym when all the excitement began. The "Little Stingetts" were the first to be introduced. They are our babies, and they were so cute. The "Little Stingers" were next in line (1st & 2nd grade). Also introduced were the cheerleaders, the dance team, basketball players, football players and the newly organized cross-country team. They each took a turn to strut their stuff. Principal Lee Bond also introduced the teachers, (some new) personnel and those participating in the school activities. Looks as if we will have an exciting school year at MHS.
Get well wishes to all that are sick.
Thought for the week! Don't Quit, Don't Split. Just sit. Wait - God will outline, outlast, and outperform your opponent.
Take care - be safe and enjoy the fair- I'll see you there - Nell.
