Greetings to all of you!
Holiday time is approaching fastly. Thanksgiving is only eight days away. Families and friends look forward to getting together. Schools will be closed the week of Thanksgiving; our dedicated teachers are in need of a break.
Talking Out Loud!
The other day I went to the new Dollar Store/Dollar Tree to shop. They have a nice store which I've only been there two or three times. I got a $5 coupon in the mail. For those who know me, I love saving a few dollars when possible. One of the items I needed was eggs. To my surprise a dozen eggs cost $4.25. Now that is a big increase from what I've been paying at our Clifton Dollar Store. Believe me, I'm not complaining, but simply "venting". Someone's remark was, "We need to buy us some chickens Nell." My remark was, "You know chickens have to be fed, the feed is probably expensive." So, we'll just bite the bullet and move on to the next verse of what life dishes out. Again, venting is good when we have things to get off our chest, just do it in a nice way and move on. There are greater challenges down the road.
FALL FEST at MHS
Lots of excitement was in the air on Friday night at the MHS Fall Fest. It was held on the football field. The Fall Fest was a great success with a big crowd attending. The children were dressed up in all kinds of costumes. They were so cute and also some were rather scary. Tables were set up with items for sale and some handed out free treats. They had a cake walk, decorated pumpkin contest, face painting, games and a dunking booth to name a few. Our church sponsored a treats table. Cherie, Fame, Percy, and I were there to greet the children. I was thrilled to see several students who have already graduated and now have a family. By the way our Cherie took a turn in the dunking booth, now that was a brave thing to do.
Congratulations to those who participated in the Fall Display Contest, in our Fair City, Franklinton. As I drive by I continue to enjoy seeing them. Thank you for making our town look good for the visitors that come to the fair.
