Greetings to all my faithful readers! Wednesday afternoon before Thanksgiving, I was outside doing odd jobs and believed it or not I actually got hot and had to come inside, shed some of my clothes and put on something lighter. It was a beautiful day outside!
Pioneer Christmas is scheduled for the first weekend on December 3rd and 4th (Saturday and Sunday). There will be arts, crafts, food, a visit with Santa, raffles, and entertainment held in the commercial building on the fairgrounds. Mile Branch Settlement will also be open; it will feature singing plus much more.
Well, Daylight Saving Time ended three weeks ago. We've been waiting to get that hour back and now we have it. What are we going to do with it? It always takes me a while to get back on track. When it gets dark now, I look at the clock and say to myself it seems much later than what the clock shows.
Happy belated birthday to Teagin Pouncey who celebrated his birthday on November 17th.
CELEBRATING MY BIRTHDAY
On Friday, October 21st I celebrated my birthday at the fair. When I arrived at Mile Branch Jackie had me a beautiful cake. We cut it there on the Magee Cabin porch where I was surrounded with the Happy Birthday song and birthday wishes. My niece Rebekah, daughter Marie and her mom Rose, Jackie and several friends enjoyed a birthday cake. By the way my special Queen Tricia and her mom Sue joined us. We visited and took pictures. I also received birthday wishes, and birthday songs over the phone and got several beautiful birthday cards in the mail. My son Bill left me two birthday messages on the answering machine before I got home that day. Now when I need to hear his voice, I just turn it on. At least I can still hear his voice and that helps me and hold on to memories.
I hosted our Red Hat outing on Tuesday, November 1st at Bogue Chitto Cafe'. We had a delightful country cooked meal, lots of laughs and a fun time. For dessert I made my special Chocolate Dream dessert. Everyone was given Aunt Sally's creole pralines as their door prize. Thanks to Chris Chaison for making our day special.
Barbara and Sara Burch drove to Florida to get Josh. He will spend a few days with his dad Charlie, pawpaw Shelby and other family members,
A good friend of mine took sick a couple days before Thanksgiving and is a patient at Lakeview Hospital, Covington. Please pray for Kay Burch Rogers, that she will have a quick recovery.
As I was writing my news, the rain was peppering down. Take care of yourself. I'll visit with you next week.
Thought for the week! "Giving thanks always for all things unto God the Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ." Ephesians 5:20
Take care and have a blessed week. I'll visit with you next time-Nell
