Happy New Year to all my faithful readers! Now that Christmas is behind us, a brand new year is before us. We surely have had some cold weather for a few days, in the teens at night. At the time of this writing, yesterday, Wednesday December 28th, was a beautiful sun shining day. The best we've had in several days. Word is that rain is coming our way for the weekend.
The Mt. Pisgah women on missions met at the home of Frances Schilling for their December meeting. First on the agenda was voicing prayer request. Mrs. Janice gave the devotion on "Faith". The prayer and blessing was voiced by Frances. Enjoying treats and visiting were Janice Schilling, Linda Jean Folks, Sue Alford, Florinne Sorrell, Lois Thornton, the host Frances and I. I mailed out several get well- thinking of you cards. Our offering went to L.M.C.O.
My classmate and dear friend, Louis Warren Tynes, celebrated her birthday on December 22nd. I called to wish her a happy birthday. She had a great day. She was delighted to hear my voice. Several others had called with birthday greetings. This was also my mom's birthday. We sure do miss her.
Happy January birthday to the following, Lorell Morris, my sister, Sue Alford, Linda Guy, Stone Guy, Larry Guy, Charlie Burch, Julie Wells, Caroline Wells, Mike Wells, Kathy Dykes, David Harold Watson, Herman Ingram, Nicole Riley, Blaiklynn Emerson Moore, Jacey Moran, Isabella Alford, Crystal Stevens, Cindy McBeth, Suzette Watson Carter, Bro. Gerald Wright, Bro. Darrell Miller, Albert Lebo, Chase Miller, Ginger Lewis, and Kaitlin Morris.
On Wednesday before Christmas I received a phone call from a special person, my former MHS basketball player, Nicole. She had come by a couple weeks ago and I wasn't at home. We had a great visit, lots of laughs and conversations, reminiscing of past school days at MHS. I was so happy to see her. She had truly made my day. I told her I had seen Asia at Winn Dixie when she works and that I was told Jada and Diamond were doing good. When she left I was wearing the beautiful sterling silver bracelet she gave me. She left with some treats.
Bryan and I were invited to have supper with Amber Taylor and family Wednesday night before Christmas. Amber is my great niece. Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal along with much conversation. The kids had fun opening presents and playing.
Happy belated wedding anniversary to my friends, Jay and Laurie Schxnider.
Please pray for the sick, shut-ins and lonely, and the families who have lost loved ones.
Thought for the week! Make this a priority for the New Year, "Exercise daily-walk with the Lord."
I'll visit with you next week! Join me then, same time same station, have a blessed 2023 year, Love Nell.
