Greetings to all my faithful readers. Well, as you know our weather has made a change. Over the past few days the temperature has dropped to the 40's, and maybe get below the 40's over the weekend. Hang in there! Hopefully our favorable weather is just around the corner.
We were out of school Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, but back to school Thursday and Friday. It is always good to be at home. I don't get very much accomplished these days since most of my "Get up and go" has gone. Ha! Ha!
Dr. Seuss week at MHS was February 27th through March 3rd for Pre-K through 6th grade. Monday was "Cat in the Hat" (wear your favorite hat), Tuesday was "Fox in Socks" (wear silly socks), Wednesday was "Green Eggs and Ham" (wear green shirts), Thursday was "Dr. Seuss' Birthday" (dress your favorite Dr. Seuss character), and last Friday was "I can read with my eyes shut" (wear a shirt that you can read). Ms. Tanna’s first grade students enjoyed seeing some video clips. They also enjoyed having Ms. Crystal read to them.
A Night of Glitz and Glitter: The Krewe of MCCA presented their 43rd Ball Masque on Saturday night, February 11th held at the American Legion Hall in Bogalusa. Jackie and I were invited to go. Thanks to Kristie for getting our tickets and making sure that we had a nice time. Not long after we arrived they had a table set up with lots of goodies. Later for dinner the buffet was butterfly fried shrimp, brisket, seafood pasta plus other foods to enjoy. This year's King and Queen were Leo Mickenheim and Julie Hayden. My great niece Katie Seal was a maid dressed in a long white gown. It was a special treat seeing the performances and their beautiful attire. We had never been before, but our night was special as everyone entered, then taking their place. Their costumes were outstanding.
The Krewe of Pepe's Mardi Gras parade was on Sunday afternoon in February. The king was Richard Bickham and the queen was Asontaya Bickham. The weather was perfect. The crowds along the parade route anxiously waited as the parade rode down the streets in our Fair city.
Now that basketball season is over, baseball and softball season is in full swing. Come out and support our Yellow Jackets.

There will be an art show/sale on Sunday March 26th at the home of Sara Nelson, near Clifton. The public is invited to come between 2-5 p.m. There is no admission charge.
Surely you have been aggravated with the yellow dust flying around called pollen. For many it is an allergy problem. Hopefully it won't last long.
My little five year old great granddaughter Emily recently had surgery. She is home recovering, and I wish my sweet one well.
Please pray for the sick, shut-ins, and lonely; also pray for the families who have lost loved ones.
Thought for the week! Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).
Until next writing - take are and be safe, Nell.
