Easter greetings to all of you! Easter is the most important holiday of the Christian religion. The rising sun is the symbol of Easter and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The date of Easter is not always on the same day because it is related to the full moon and the position of the sun over the equator. The earliest possible date is March 22nd, the latest is April 22nd. The Easter egg symbolizes birth and a "new beginning". Long ago some people even believed that the Earth had hatched from a giant egg!
The tradition of coloring and exchanging eggs was started by the ancient Egyptians. There are many ways that you can join us. There are fun activities such as coloring and decorating your own Easter eggs. Some ways of coloring eggs are using crayons, using checked, striped or plaid materials and tie dying. In researching, I found these interesting things and wanted to share them with you. As Christians we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sins. He shed his precious blood that we might have everlasting life. What a blessing that is for us. He is not in the grave. He is Risen!
Saturday March 14th was a special afternoon when I visited with the Miller's. Alyssa was home and I had a great visit with her. Jason boiled crawfish. Also there were Julia and Brooklyn. When I left the Miller's I went to help Chris and Sara Burch celebrate their birthday. Supper was enjoyed along with birthday cake and ice cream. Family members were there for the celebration.
I attended my first softball game at MHS. The visiting team was Varnado. The girls played a good game, coming out on top with a score of 21 runs, and Varnado had 7. Sitting outside was a little cool and windy.
