Father's Day is June 18th. Happy Father's Day to all those wonderful fathers out there. Hopefully you will have a very special day with your children. If you are fortunate to still have your father around, visit with him, make his day special. By the way, you are blessed beyond measure to have him. For those of us whose dad is deceased, we can reflect on those happy times and memories spent with them.
A birthday celebration was recently held honoring Shelby Burch Jr. at the home of Evelyn Burch. Helping him celebrate were his children Barbara, Brenda, Sara, Charlie and Chris. Also enjoying birthday cake and ice cream were Jose and Brett.
Our VBS got off to a great start last night, Wednesday. The children were so excited. We expect Thursday and Friday to also be a great learning experience of God's word.

The Mount Hermon School Kindergarten class graduation was held in the school gymnasium on May 18th. They presented an impressive program to parents and friends. They all were so cute as they recited their parts. Their teachers were Mrs. Donna Magee and Ms. Alyssa Woodward.
The 1st and 2nd grades awards programs were held on Monday morning, May 22nd. The 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade awards program was on Tuesday May 23rd. The 7th through the 12th grade awards programs were Wednesday May 24th, which was the last day of school. I enjoyed seeing the students get their trophies and certificates. They worked hard and deserved the recognition.
Hope you will try this dairy treat! It is a strawberry smoothie. Cut a banana in small pieces, put in a blender, add 1 cup of strawberries, 1 cup of plain yogurt, and 1/2 cup of orange juice. Blend mixture until smooth. Great for breakfast or a snack.
Thought for the week! Decide to do something positive today, and you will mount up on wings of faith!
See you next week - Nell.
