Hello once again to all of my faithful readers. The summertime weather is still with us, with the temperature in the upper 90's and even to 100 degrees. Don't worry --- if the air conditioner holds out, maybe we'll make it through this extremely hot weather.
I can't believe that summer vacation will soon come to a close and I had planned when school was out. My number one thing was to clean the house and get things in order. Guess what, I have not gotten that done. My day goes by fast, piddling from one thing to another, not to mention the heat. Since it's been so hot, I stay inside trying to keep cool as much as I can.
I visited with Marguerite Lipani to find her doing well. In the mail that day she received a card from a friend and a letter from her daughter. The messages were encouraging and this made her happy. Her sitter, Ms. Tina, was there and we had a fun visit. She is always happy to have her friends come see her.
Richard Schilling celebrated his birthday on Saturday, July 15th. He enjoyed eating at Bo's Steak House with family members. I went to play bingo on Friday with him a day before his birthday. After bingo I had him a giant brownie with a lighted candle. He made a wish and we all joined together singing "Happy Birthday" to him. Other bingo players enjoyed brownies with him.
A special Happy Birthday to my niece, Rebekah Nickel, on July 31st. Your family joins together wishing you a very blessed day. Enjoy yourself, you deserve it.
I was privileged to get to enjoy the day with Fame and the girls. We went to visit Alyssa to see her new house. We also enjoyed a delicious meal at Cracker Barrel. She has a nice house and it is in a nice neighborhood. She gave me a tour and told me about what she was getting later. She is a nurse and loves her job. I thoroughly enjoyed being with them. Lots of conversations, and laughs were shared.

Losing someone we love is always hard, but with the help of the Good Lord, we can get through sorrowful times. Holding on to those good memories about your loved one is one way to help during your loss. Pray for these families who have lost someone they love dearly. Please pray for my cousin Bobbie Brumfield Miller's family in Baton Rouge. Also remember the family of Mark Stuart of the Lawrence Creek community.
