Greetings to you on a really cold day (at the time of this writing)!
I hope you had a nice time at the fair. This year is history for another year, leaving us with lots of fond memories, not to mention an aching body. The weather was absolutely beautiful.
The opening ceremony/flag raising was held at the courthouse square prior to the fair as usual the parade was on Wednesday morning, seeing all the decorated float vehicles, marching bonds, and dancers, and always special. Then on Wednesday night several beautiful, talented young ladies graced the main stage for the annual Fair Queen Contes.t Winning the crown was Addison Goings daughter of Steven and Kelly Goings and granddaughter of Bobby and Valerie Goings of our community. Something new this year was a teen queen contest held the same night. The teen queen selected was Valerie Seal. Congratulations to all the contestants who participated.
The rest of the week was filled with a variety of music on stage and Down by the Branch. Also, the ride on midway livestock shows rodeo viewing all the exhibits, and of course all the good foods.
Happy belated birthday to Denis Morgan. His special day was October 11th. I saw him at the fair and he reminded me.
He said not to put his age, but most of us know he is NO spring chicken. Ha! Ha! Be a good sport Denis. My answer to him was to be thankful to be around to have another birthday and of course we get older as the birthdays go by.
Marquerite Lipani recently celebrated her birthday with her cousin, Betty, and Anita, Joe Holmes and family members. They enjoyed a meal and birthday cake at her house. Later, her son and daughter carried her out to eat. She received several cards and birthday wishes over the phone and in person. For all those folks who were wishing for cold weather, you got your wish. On October 30th the weather made its change, getting down in the low 40s. The weather bureau predicted it to get colder. We shall wait and see how long it will last. I was at school on Monday, October 30 and was cold all day out. The wind seemed colder. I was happy to get home and get warmed up.

Heartfelt sympathy is sent out to the dear families who have lost beloved ones. You are in our prayers. One thing that will help is to hold onto the happy memories you have. Please remember the family of Dr. Jerry Thomas, Wilton "Bud" Lebo Shirley Creel Hunt and JC Tarver.
Thought for the week! Let the roots of God's love in your life be entered with others who need your support.
for Wednesday morning, November 1 was a freeze as the old saying is "baby it's cold outside". Believe me it's going to get colder so put on extra layers and be happy because there is nothing you can do about the cold weather.
Signing off for now - Take care and keep warm. This cold snap will surely pass, love Nell.
