Folks, January is here! Hopefully the New Year is treating you well except for some cold temperatures. Christmas day was pleasant. But New Year's Day came in with a "Bang" and was cold, with the strong cold winds whipping around. Hang on, colder weather is on its way. Welcome 2024!
With Christmas holidays over, school bells ring again, and fun time is over. It's back to books and learning. The students began on Monday January 8th; teachers were there Friday.
We are still collecting for the Lottie Moon Christmas offering. If you haven't given, it's not too late, only another week or so.

Family members and friends gathered at Mt. Pisgah Church Fellowship Hall for a "It's a Girl" baby shower honoring Laney and Alyssa Milley Sullivan. The hall was beautifully decorated in shades of pink. Refreshments of delicious jambalaya, pulled pork sandwiches, chips and dip, and decorated two-layer cake and punch were enjoyed by those attending. Alyssa and Laney were very appreciative for all the cute/nice baby gifts.
The Miller/Sullivan family happily announced they are having a little princess joining them. Delyn Claire was born Monday, December 18th, weighing 7 lbs. 1 oz. Proud mom and dad are Alyssa and Laney Sullivan. Being her adopted maw maw, I haven't seen her yet, but the words are "she is beautiful, and already making lots of noises".
Jasper Solnik will celebrate his birthday on January 14th. His grandmother Marguerite Lipani sends birthday wishes to him. He is presently in college. She loves and misses him.
We have several on the prayer list. Please pray for Fame Miller, Bro. Fred and Tanna Brumfield, Howard James are home recuperating, from surgery, the shut-ins and loneliness, in the hospital, the nursing home and those who have lost loved ones.
Thought- Reflect on your present blessings not on your past misfortunes. Be thankful!
Until next writing, stay warm and be safe. Prayerfully- Nell.
