I still have some Christmas parties and gatherings to share with you.
My son Bryan's boss, Brad Reid catered a Christmas meal on Sunday, December 3rd at Tracey's Skillet in Columbia, Mississippi. Those in attendance were his workers and their family. Everyone enjoyed hamburger steak on chicken breast with all the trimmings and dessert. Door prizes were drawn, and we both received one. The outing was enjoyed by all.
The Mt. Hermon Community Christmas Parade was on Saturday morning, December 16th. The parade began at Rawl's Pharmacy and passed Brook's General Store and returned. Some marched while others rode on decorated floats. As I stood on the roadside near the school, I enjoyed seeing everyone waving, throwing candies, cups and toys to the spectators. The kiddies had fun and so did I. By the way I had a basket full of goodies. Thank the Lord, the rain held off until the parade was over. Then it came down.
Celebrating January birthdays include Christella Brown-Lee, Kori Travis, Nicole Riley, Kathy Gerity, Mary Hazen, Pat Pate Matthews, Dianne Smith, Betty Rothermel, Sandra Thibodeaux, Christian Renee Thibodeaux, Sherry Patten, Sara Gale Burch, Kenny Starker, Caiden Guy, Angel Zenon, Linda Whaley, Jack Whaley, Mike Wells, Julie Wells, Caroline Wells, Makayla Welch, Tomaya Brumfield, Serenity Magee, Savannah Alford, Cheyenne Keating, Isabella Alford, Dennis Stewarl, Zechariah Gill and Jayla Richards.
Bryan and I were invited to have lunch with our friends Jay and Laurie Schexnider on Christmas Day. Several family members were also there. Our visit was special, and the meal cooked by Laurie and her mom was delicious. Laurie had the house decorated, including a big, beautiful Christmas tree.
Virginia Padgett hosted a Christmas celebration for the Burch Clan on Saturday afternoon, December 16th. Hot dogs and a variety of goodies were enjoyed by all. Her home and yard were a beautiful sight to see. It was cold and the bonfire sure felt good. They also exchanged gifts. It's always good to visit and enjoy pleasant conversation with them.
Happy birthday to my special friend Shelby Charles Burch who we call "Charlie". His birthday is Friday, January 19th. Have a good day!
