Hello again to all the faithful readers. I have once again been encouraged by folks whom I meet along the way and they tell me they really enjoy this column.
Well, it's officially Summer time. Weather folks are talking about temperatures reaching into the 100's this week. Please be safe in this heat. I'm thankful to hear that tropical storm Cindy is weaking and headed away from the United States. God is good!!!
Next Tuesday will be Independence Day. July 4th. I'm sure there will be many folks cooking, grilling, swimming, eating watermelon and homemade ice cream. I'm very thankful to live in the "land of the free". It's something that I for one, take for granted. We all need to be more thankful for our freedom.
Also don't forget the Washington Parish Watermelon Festival will be back July 7th - 9th. There will be fun for the whole family.
Pine Malt Stand will host its 4th annual 4th of July Jamboree on Tuesday July 4th, 2023. It will be a fill day of family fun, good food, and Live Music. There will also be a corn hole tournament. All events will be held at the Pine Malt Stand in downtown Pine,La.

Stateline Missionary Baptist Church ordained three new deacons on June 24th. I had the great honor and privilege to participate in that service. Please pray for these men and their wives as they take on this responsibility for the church. The men ordained were Jeff Smith, Matt Williams, and Alex Kennedy.
Last week's Bible question: . . . What did Jeroboam do to the prophet Ahijah's new garment (cloak) ? The answer is, He (Jeroboam) rent the garment into twelve pieces. This is found in 1Kings 11: 29 &30
This week's Bible question: . . . In what way was Asa afflicted in his old age? Or what disease did he have?
Quote for the week: . . . .“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right” – Henry Ford
Have a safe, fun, and happy 4th of July.
Take care and be blessed. Till next time:
