Prescription to Celebrate!
Last Saturday I attended a Celebration Graduation Party for Doctor Karla Martin at Serenity in Denham Springs and it was full of love.
Karla recently graduated from Louisiana State University School of Medicine. The party was hosted by Karla and her Family. Most invited guests arrived on time and praised the elaborate preparations. The Serenity was beautifully decorated by a native of Vernon Community - Crystal Watson Johnson. After the prayer by Bruce and spoken words of encouragement from her doctor classmate and father Colston Martin, tears of happiness flowed throughout the room. Everyone was overjoyed for this moment. The catered food (a feast) was delicious and cooked to perfection.
Being in the company of doctors, friends, and supporting family was great for everyone. When Doctor Karla Martin made her entrance she was toasted with fine champagne and received plenty of cheers and well wishes. After dinner the cake was served and we danced the evening away. We ended the day receiving various edible medical treats and decorated candy apples from Karla.
Karla left to get prepared for another rewarded trip, this time to Africa. When Karla returns her new residence will be in Houston, Texas. Karla will be a full time obstetrics and gynecology resident at University of Texas Health Sciences located in Houston. Karla acknowledged and thanked everyone for supporting her dreams and journey - especially her parents, Colston Martin Jr. and Gwen Martin. She also gave a special thanks to her God-parents Bruce and Jackie Martin. Best Wishes Karla Maree Martin, MD
