What’s Going On
What A Time, What A Time!
Giving many shoutouts and thanks to everyone that helped make our time together pleasurable. Can't help but give Colonel Kevin Scott a big thanks for providing everything except the side dishes. Our Fourth of July Celebration was celebrated on Saturday, July the 1st in Vernon Community at Kevin’s Office.
This family gathering was long past due for the Williams siblings and family members. They hadn't been together since COVID caused the nation to come to a screeching halt. Romenia (Me-me), Bobbie (Lou), Elsie, Lawrence (Bo), Myrtis (Myrt),and Vertis (Vert) the twins were finally reunited. Families flew in from California, North Carolina, and Atlanta. Some families drove from Texas in their mobile snowball van. They wanted everyone to be comfortable and cool. They provided as many free snowballs as we desired to eat.
We were excited and overjoyed to be in the presence of each other. We Prayed, we laughed, we hugged, we kissed, and we emotionally caught up on our lost time of family togetherness.
Food cooked from the time we arrived until almost dark. We had to call surrounding neighbors to come get food. It's a blessing to be a blessing. All Praises to God above for allowing us together one more time.
The children had plenty of popsicles, water toys and a huge water slide for their hot outdoor entertainment. Indoor air, porch fans, tents, or under tree leaves is were the adults hung out.
Our time together was well spent and everyone is looking forward to the holiday season.
Although, we’re apart, our roots remain the same.
