Notes and Quotes
The LHSAA football playoff travel rules advise that beginning in the third round (quarterfinals) the highest seed (lowest number) hosts.
"Great win for our program. The defense played well all night. Offensively we started fast, got a little sloppy in the second quarter bug got back in rhythm in the second half. It's a big accomplishment to be playing Thanksgiving week. At Sterlington next. They have an excellent program."
--- Pine coach Bradley Seal
"I'm so proud of our guys and their efforts this entire season. They bought into our philosophy and the culture of football is truly amazing here at BG. We will be back next season and competing at the same high level. We fell short in the championship game but fought hard for four quarters and held Tri County to their lowest point total of the season and scored more on them than any other MAIS school. Tri County is the standard in 4A MAIS football, we are closing the gap on them. Our seniors will be missed. They accomplished the first district championship in years, won two playoff games and made it to the state championship. Dray Killingsworth and Gabe Jas will represent our school and parish in the MAIS all star game on December 1 at Jackson Prep. I want to personally thank everyone in our school and parish that did anything to help our football program this season. We are truly a family at BG and we all work together for the greater of our children. Go Bucs!"
---- Bowling Green coach Jason Johnson
"Defense was stellar last night. I believe that's the first game all year Sumner hasn't scored. Offensively everything in the pass game clicked as Jeremy Franklin had a big night throwing the ball! We travel to take on #1 seed. Will be a tall task for us."
--- Amite coach Zephaniah Powell
