Game of the Week - Franklinton (1-1) at Pine (2-0) Since this series resumed in 2024 it has been absolutely incredible. The first game went into overtime and last season's game was in doubt late in the game. With the Demons having won both games, nothing would make the Raiders and their fans happier than their team being victorious over the Demons this season.
With the Demons not having the season they would like and the Raiders doing well, this could be the game that the Raiders finally come out on top.
If the Raiders can limit the Demons offensive playmakers and play solid offense they certainly could. The Demons would need to get the ball into their playmakers hands using their speed on offense and get stops on defense. Special teams could impact this game as well.
Should be a good one!
Notes and Quotes
"We came out last night and just got back to the basics of everything we do. Just tried to keep it simple and execute our assignments and it ended up being a good night."
---Bens Ford coach Destin Pittman
"We had to do a lot of soul searching last week. Our kids knew that shouldn't have happened. With all due respect to Amite, that was embarrassing. It embarrassed them, it embarrassed me, the high school and the Frankltinton community so those guys got beat to death by me all week. I told them before the game, great teams respond. Muhammed Ali was the champion three times because he got knocked down three times. So now we just have to keep working until we are where we need to be."
--- Franklinton coach Nick Saltaformaggio
"The biggest room in the world is the room of improvement! The Lumberjacks improved tremendously from week one to week two. They jumped out to a 12-0 lead but couldn't hold on in the end losing to South Plaquemine 32-24. The Lumberjack defense was the star of the show as they forced seven turnovers on the night and scored two touchdowns. The Lumberjack offense chipped in 298 yards . The Lumberjacks will regroup and build off of their week two momentum as they face cross town rival Varnado."
-----Bogalusa coach Larry Harold
"The scoreboard doesn't always tell the story of the game, I think that was the case this past Friday night. I am extremely proud of my kids and the effort they played with and the fight they showed through adversity. The scoreboard may not say that but if we continue to work and play with that same effort and fight over the course of the season, eventually the scoreboard will start to display that!" ----- Varnado coach Vonta Owens
"Proud of our players and coaches last night. Always good to win the district games and to win at home. We will be back home next week and again have a district opponent. Just want to give our players credit for their continued hard work and effort."
---- Bowling Grean coach Dean King
"Good team win for all of our guys and glad to get out of that game healthy.."
----- FJHS coach Andy Creel
