Coach Drake Westmoreland threw out the first ceremonial pitch at the Washington Parish Jamboree on Friday, February 7. Drake is the son of Randall Westmoreland and Sandra Westmoreland and is a 2020 graduate of Pine High School. He has been married for three years to the former Eva Crowe, a Franklinton High School graduate
Drake earned a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry and will finish his Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry in July. He is a bi-vocational minister and teaches Health Education at FHS and is the Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Backs coach for Demon football. He has served as the youth minister at Thomas FBC, was Student Pastor at Westside Emmanuel Baptist Church in Bogalusa and is now the Next Gen Pastor at First Baptist Church Franklinton.
Since he began at First Baptist Franklinton a few short months ago, five members of the FHS baseball team have surrendered their lives to Christ. He does not want his own personal accomplishments to overshadow those young men and others who have made a commitment to further God's kingdom. He does believe one thing that everyone needs know and it is found in John 10:10, "We can have Abundant life in Jesus, not this world."
Catching Coach Drake was #13, Sophomore pitcher Jordy Thomassen.
