Excitement is building in Washington Parish. It’s almost time for the 2026 Washington Parish Fair!
After fortunately avoiding any bad side effects last week from Hurricane Isaias, fair organizers are now looking for picture-perfect weather for next week’s Fair.
In Southeast Louisiana predicting the weather a week in advance is dicey, but as of now it looks like fairgoers will have high temperatures in the mid-80’s and lows in the mid-60’s. The National Weather Service is putting the chance of rain at approximately 24% for all of next week.
For local school children, the Fair brings a double delight. Not only is plenty of Fair fun on the horizon, but schools in the parish will be closed all of next week for the Fair.
The Fair Parade will roll at 10 a.m. next Wednesday, and the parade will be followed by the traditional opening ceremony of the Fair at noon.
In addition to the parade, Wednesday’s big event is the Queen Pageant, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on the main stage. This year two young ladies will compete for the Fair Queen title, and four teen candidates will compete for the Teen Queen title. Details are in the Fair Edition.
For country music fans, the big draws to the Fair are headliners LeAnn Rimes and Frank Foster.
Foster will be on the main stage Thursday evening and Ms Rimes will be on the main stage Saturday evening. See the schedules in Section C of the Fair Edition to find out who is entertaining at both the Main Stage and at Down By The Branch.
The Fair will continue until it’s finally time to close late Sunday evening.
With a rodeo, a playground, plenty of exhibits, awesomely delicious food, a world-class midway, and loads of spectacular entertainment, the 2026 Washington Parish Fair truly offers something for everyone!
