Early voting for the June 27 Louisiana run-off election starts this Friday.
The June 27 election involves run-offs for both U.S. Senate and the District 1 seat on the Louisiana Public Service Commission.
U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy lost in the May 16 Republican primary. The top 2 candidates in that primary were U.S. Rep. Julia Letlow and State Treasurer John Fleming. Letlow and Fleming will be in the June 27 Republican run-off.
For the Democratic Party, the top 2 candidates for U.S. Senate were Jamie Davis and Gary Crockett. They advanced to the June 27 Democratic run-off.
The winners of the June 27 Republican and Democratic run-offs will face off this fall in the general election.
For Public Service Commission, District 1, John Young and Stephanie Hilferty advanced to the June 27 Republican run-off. No Democrat is seeking this office, so the winner of the June 27 Republican run-off will become the District 1 member on the PSC.
In Washington Parish, early voting starts this Friday, June 12, and continues through and including Saturday, June 20, except for Sunday, June 14 and Friday, June 19.
Early voting takes place at the courthouse in Franklinton and st Northshore Technical College in Bogalusa. At both locations the early voting hours are 8:30 a.m. ‘til 6:00 p.m.
