Edna Garner Thomas, 97, a resident of the Pine Community passed away Monday night September 1, 2025 at Fair City Health and Rehab, Franklinton, LA. She was a member of Crain’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She loved her church where she enjoyed singing. She was a seamstress for many years sewing was her favorite pastime. She enjoyed her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was a food preparer for many years at numerous fish houses.

2 Sons and daughters in law: Gary and Anita Garner, Kevin and Jan Garner
2 Grandchildren and spouses: Amy and Shane Ball, Macey and Nick Mizell
5 Great grandchildren and spouses: Trent and Ashley Ball,, Jace and Cameron Ball, Ethan Mizell, Emmett Mizell, Oaklynn Mizell
2 Great great grandchildren: Blakely Ball, Kirk Ball, and an expected great great grandson Luke
3 Sisters: Gilda Passman, Sharon Simmons, Julia Guchereau
1 Brother: John David McNeese
Cousin and longtime friend: Myrtle Stogner
Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members
She was preceded in death by her husbands Bernis Garner and Fernie Thomas, her parents Alfred and Alice Beall Hembree, sisters Mildred Stuart and Marlene Fitzmorris, and brothers Elmo McNeese and Donald McNeese.
Visitation will at Crain Funeral Home Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 9 pm and after 9:00 am on Friday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Friday with Bro. Doyle Ball, Bro. Tommy Hudnell, Bro. Glen Stuart and Bro. Edward Penton officiating. Burial will follow in Harmony Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
