I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend. We were able to spend part of the day in New Orleans for James and Annalise’s birthday. Shopping at the mall, browsing Barnes & Nobles, eating at Drago’s, taking pictures --- it was an excellent day.
Easter Sunday was spent at church with lunch afterwards. We had some amazing songs for worship. A couple of songs were new to me, but we liked them a lot! I hope you all had a great day of worship as well. (if you do not have a church home, I invite you to come sit with me at Enon!)
Enon Baptist Church Youth had a GREAT turn out for their bake sale. There were many yummy treats to choose from.
Graduation Recognition will be May 4th at church. Annalise, Macaullay, and others will be honored that day.
We have several funds going on at church right now, one for the Parsonage, one for the Evangelism Fund, and Annie Armstrong. Blessing of Food will be April 24-25. May 4th will also be a VBS showcase luncheon following morning service.
Vacation Bible School will be June 8-12. The Youth will have a Nothing Bundt Cake Fundraiser starting May 19th. May 10th will be a Yard & Vendor Sale. Please see Mrs. Alice or Mrs. Kristen for vendor or yard sale spots. You can continue to bring items to donate for the church spot. Gracie is supposed to be doing a seafood pasta bowl to help raise money for her Misson Trip to Ireland.
Happy birthday to Rebecca Ginn, Alyea Serpas, Rockelle Bryant, Amy Wickliffe, John Varnado, Ryan Perea, and Rebecca Mizell.
Enon Elementary School had Farm Safety Day last Wednesday. It was a great day of learning about sun protection, ATV/UTV Safety, Fire Safety, how to use 911, poisons that could be in the home, dialing 811 before you dig, gun safety, tornado safety, etc. The students (and even the teachers) learned a lot. Thank you to Cargill for feeding the teachers and staff afterwards. We had a wonderful time!
Franklinton High School had Academic Signing Day this past Thursday. I am so proud of Annalise. She is considering her options of what she would like to do and when and where she would like to attend school. The Seniors of FHS had Senior Night last Tuesday night where the students research their dream job and complete a job shadowing. Then they present to their teacher and peers, along with Senior Night telling others what profession they would like to do. It was so nice to see the various professions the class of 2025 are interested in!
I hope you all have a wonderful Spring Break, especially those who are working in Education. It is nearing the end of the “4th Quarter” and summer is coming!
