I have always heard of Disney tired, Teacher tired (especially at the end of the year), Vacation tired, etc, but there is NOTHING like Fair Tired, especially for a teacher!
This has been a HOT, but fun week. The music choices were fantastic for the Main Stage, Down by the Branch, and at Mile Branch. Some of our favorites were Mountain Highway, Back 40, Clifton Brown, Rodney Atkins, Jared Daws, Leif Meche, Jourdan Blue, Alex Smith, I-10 Bound, Wayne Toups, and Rockin’ Dopsie, Jr.
There were several that I missed out on due to exhaustion, heat, or in another area like Mile Branch; Enon Elementary, Dean King, Joel Galloway, CJ Solar, and 12 South Band. If I missed out on anymore, I apologize, there was so much to choose from!
We love sitting at my great grandfather’s cabin in Mile Branch. The Jones Cabin when you walk straight in usually has my mama, Aunt Charlotte, and Aunt Clara Fay sitting in it to tell the history. Nowadays my girls are there as well helping out. Gracie is now a co-chairman for the Jones Cabin. I am so proud of the tradition of the Fair and Mile Branch.
Friday night I was able to see a former student (Zachary Naegele) bull ride in the rodeo. (Check him out, he has an amazing testimony because he got a horn to the neck several months ago rodeoing and is blessed to be able to share his story today.)
Enon Baptist Church Youth are selling veggies and various frozen goods for part of their fundraising efforts for Camp Fuego next summer. If you are interested, please message me, Brother Chris, or Gracie Thigpen. (You can also grab one of the Youth and ask them for an order form) Blessing of Food will be October 23rd and 24th.
Happy birthday to Bruce Tabor, Brandon Thomas, Cheryl McElveen, Jolene Black, my brother-in-law David Thigpen, one of our fantastic Pre-K paras Ashley Jenkins, our amazing Art teacher (and my cousin in law) Faith Ginn, Cindy Corkern, Scott Breland, Kristen Polk, and Bailey McMahan.
Condolences to the families of Julia Sharp Oswald, Alfred Applewhite, and Al St. Pierre, III.
Thank you to our principal Mrs. Shannon for getting us a special delivery of coffee at school before the Fair! It was amazing and we appreciated the sweet gesture.
Congratulations to all of our winners at the Washington Parish Fair!
