This upcoming weekend is Mother’s Day. I hope you all have great weekend spending as much time as you can with your mama if that is possible. We aren’t sure of our plans yet but will try to make a fun weekend out of it. (maybe some shopping, eating, and of course maybe a movie or two)
This past week my class went on a field trip with 1st grade to the Hattiesburg Zoo. It was a great trip although it was a tad wet and chilly. We saw many different animals, got to pet a couple of them, and rode the train. We had a great time and enjoyed our time together. I highly recommend visiting their zoo, it is not huge but has plenty to see and do.
Happy birthday to Beau Blackwell, Bob Watson, Michael Williams, Barbara Howard, Ashley Sharp, Danielle Gomez, Denelle Tate, Deloy Rester, Megan Daughdrill, Natalie Clelland, and Amber Bankston. Condolences to the families of Jaliyah Howard, Alvin Graham, Destiny Matran, Delores Coronet, and Bristol Gaines.
Enon Baptist Church has some Vacation Bible School needs: neon posterboard, clear plastic bottles (water bottle, 2 liter, etc), and there is also and Amazon wish list, you can ask Mrs. Alice, Christy, or Cameron for the link. VBS workday May 16 at 8 am. Our Vacation Bible School is June 7-11; you still have time to sign up to help!
If you didn’t watch the Kentucky Derby, you definitely need to watch the replay! It was such an amazing win. The girls and I were cheering for one horse and then started cheering for another! There were a few Louisiana horses, and one jockey was from Lafayette. I love watching the horses run and it was cool to think the girls and I were able to be at Churchhill Downs a few summers ago. Such a pretty place to be and such history in one area. (Secretariat is my mama’s favorite and in turn my favorite as well, to think he ran that track was amazing.)
It is hard to believe that in about a month Gracie will be heading to London, England to spend 2 months spreading God’s word and love. I am excited for her and to see where this summer leads her. Please be in prayer for her and her team and most of all the people they will come in contact with. (Pray for their safety and well-being as well)
