Over the weekend some of my family on mom’s side met up at our cousin’s restaurant in Harahan, Louisiana for a reunion/birthday party. We met at Charles Seafood and enjoyed great food and great conversation. It was nice visiting everyone and we hate that some had to miss and hope that they will be able to attend the next one. Lots of stories were told, especially about banana salad. (bananas mixed with mayonnaise and either peanuts or pecans ground on top) Apparently (yes, I do remember it as a kid just didn’t know the name) it was always a family hit, although I have no idea where the recipe came from.
Brother Chris had a fantastic sermon about grace this past week. If you have a chance, you can watch it on our Enon Baptist Church Facebook page. He also made the comment, “I couldn’t run out of sight in a day”. I couldn’t help but giggle, because I am sure there are many of us who feel that way literally and figuratively.
August 30th is our 5th Sunday sing during morning worship with Dinner on the Grounds afterwards. There will be no evening service that night. The Youth had a swim party at Jimmy and Cindy Pace’s house on Sunday.
