Enon Baptist Church had 5th Sunday Sing and Dinner on the Grounds this past Sunday. There were many beautiful songs sung and lots of yummy food and desserts. We are so grateful to each person who sang, shared, and cooked. I am thankful I was able to cook my Maw Maw’s Chicken Casserole, and it was not exactly like hers but very close. I need to find some more of the recipes she used and see if I can replicate them.

Happy 85th birthday to my sweet mama Beryl Jo Sharp this week, happy birthday to Laurie Williams, Becky Jo Hollen Williams, Rachel King Sims, Sheree Voth, Salle Rysyrom, Jane Whitney, Karen Jenkins, Allen Jones, Noah Mudge, Cole Taylor, Sondra Magee, and Ryan Smith.
Condolences to the families of Ann Nevers, Johnny D. Crain, Sr., Willie Mae McElveen, Tammy Creel, Charles Sanders, and Dolly Parton. (I know some people may find it odd for me to list her, but she was such an important part of East Tennessee and our friends who are there, plus all of the children who are given one book a month for their first 5 years of life from the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. She started that program because her daddy couldn’t read. My daughters were able to benefit from The Imagination Library, but now children in other states, including Louisiana, can benefit from it. It has always held a special place in my heart and if you feel led you can make a donation to Dolly’s Imagination Library to help supply books to children all over.)
Congratulations to Monica Smith, Staff of the Year, and Jessica Barber, Teacher of the Year for Enon Elementary School.
