I hope you all had a good week. One thing about Louisiana is you never know what the weather is going to be like. Over the weekend, we knew the weather might be rough, but Saturday night the power went out around midnight, and the weather came barreling through!
I know they always say a tornado sounds like a freight train and I have been in one a couple of times in North Louisiana (ironically both at Aunt Mary and Uncle Don Weston’s house), I don’t remember the sound of a train, but the sound of the wind was deafening. I am not saying we had a tornado Saturday night, but I am saying that the wind sounded ODD. So much so that I really wanted to duck and cover. We finally got power back on about 11:45 am Sunday. I am not ashamed to say that I am totally spoiled for heat/air, tv, phone, cooking, etc, I am spoiled for electricity. (haha)
Mike and Judy Fussell had their 50th Anniversary Celebration at church over the weekend. They are just the sweetest couple, and we are grateful for them and their service to our community.
Lee and Sandra Stevens are celebrating their 60th Anniversary this week. They are another amazing couple that we are so thankful for in our church and community. I hope y’all have a great week.
Happy birthday to Joel Brumfield, Hamp Robertson, Sue Jordan, Amy Inabnitt, Bradley Burch, Brittany Daniels, and Allison Thigpen.
Condolences to the families of Chris Goss, Cherry Brown, Sylvia Sue Crain Magee, and Christine Whittington.
Enon Baptist Church had their Love Luncheon on Sunday. The children love serving others are church and we are happy to have them! Friday Night was Parent’s Night Out and a great time was had by all, both those going out and staying in! We hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day. The Youth will have their Lock-In on February 28th from 7 pm to 7 am. The Youth are still selling Veggies as well. Orders are due February 23rd. Veggie Pick Up will be at Enon Baptist Church on March 8th from 10 am to 11 am. Thank you for supporting our kiddos and helping them get to church camp! Blessing of Food will be February 27th and 28th.
The Washington Parish Baptist Association Women’s Missions & Ministry will be having a Ladies Retreat March 21st to 22nd.
Enon Elementary School is always doing fun and exciting things. We had a Kiss the Pig Fundraiser and Assistant Principal Barrett Bateman and Mrs. Gina Crawford from the cafeteria had to KISS THE PIG! (They were the lucky two with the most money raised, haha).
Bailey Spears, one of our former Enon Eagles came by to teach our 4th graders about proper oral hygiene. We are so proud of you Bailey, thank you!
Congratulations to Sloan Rome and Emmanuel Morales on being selected for the 2025 Franklinton Police Department calendar.
I hope you all have a fantastic week! Until next time….
