This was a very long week. There are so many folks who are going through so much stress, sickness, sadness, grieving, etc. Please say a pray for those who are hurting and going through things we don’t understand or even know about. I know of several who have physical illnesses and just need prayers lifted up on their behalf.
We had our Annual Chili Cookoff and Cake Walk at Enon Baptist Church this past weekend. We had 17 entries this year! I made a “hot dog” chili that wasn’t too shabby and baked a Dolly Parton Coconut Cake for the Cake Walk.
Congratulations to Amira Kent 1st place, Richard Clark 2nd place, and Brother Chris Wheeler 3rd place. We were able to raise $700 for our Children’s Department.
We are trying to create a Young Adult Sunday School Class for ages 18-35, if you are interested, please let Ron Sharp, Brother Chris, or Gracie Thigpen know as soon as possible.
We will observe the Lord’s Supper October 4th. There will be no Children in Action on October 7th due to Business Meeting. EBC has choir practice at 4:30 pm each Sunday. We are practicing for our Christmas Cantata, if you would like to join us.
Happy birthday to Beverly Jones, Bowen Pace, Dannette Penton, one of our amazing Special Education Teachers Christina Graham, Beth Knight, Sara Robins, Robin Phelps, J. T. Welcome to Baron and Teresa Hathaway who officially joined our church family.
Thank you to everyone who helped contribute to our Enon Elementary Food Drive -- we received nearly 1,000 canned goods! 2nd grade collected the most and won a free dress pass for October 2nd.
We had a Dollytastic Day on 9/25. There were so many fantastic outfits, it was just perfect! Mrs. Brittany sang/read the book Coat of Many Colors to our students during library.
EES has their Scholastic Book Fair this week.
Our 1st graders have been learning about different types of animal defenses. 5th grade Science created sundials while learning about the Earth’s rotation on its axis. My class has been learning about 10 frames and ones left over. We are rockin those 10 frames!
The Enon Library will be closed October 12th for an all-day staff training.
Our EES students have been enjoying lessons at the library each week. All the children have been enjoying the after school story time each week as well. They have lots of different crafts, snacks and FUN!
I hope you all have a wonderful week. Those coolish breezes sure have me ready for the Fair! (not to mention the yummy Fair Food) Until next time……..
